WHAT IS CHINESE MEDICINE?

Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) is a holistic system of medicine that has been used for thousands of years to promote health and treat illness. Acupuncture and other auxiliary techniques can assist the body into balance, help restore your body’s self-healing capability and promote overall health and wellbeing.

WHAT TO EXPECT AT YOUR FIRST TREATMENT?

Your Chinese Medicine practitioner will first ask about signs and symptoms you are currently experiencing, in order to formulate a diagnosis. The tongue and pulse will be observed as they can give the practitioner a lot of information and confirm the diagnosis being made. Palpation of particular areas of pain or certain points or channels within the body may also be performed. Following diagnosis, treatment will then be conducted. Treatment generally involves acupuncture (very fine needles) inserted into points in the body. Generally the needles are left in for 10 minutes or longer depending on the patient’s situation. Auxiliary techniques such as cupping, massage, gua sha, patient herbal formulas, and diet/lifestyle advice may be combined to enhance the effects of treatment.

WHAT IS THE COST OF A TREATMENT?

Initial 75 minute consultation $110.

Follow up 45 minute consultation $90.
